Kaizer Chiefs defender S’fiso Hlanti and midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe will miss the upcoming DStv Premiership encounter against Sekhukhune United.
Hlanti has been a regular in Amakhosi defense and has featured in 25 games across all competitions for Arthur Zwane’s side, scoring two goals in the current campaign against Royal AM at the beginning of the year and against Lamontville Golden Arrows in a five-goal thriller.
But his toughness at the back has seen him receiving three yellow cards in four games adding to the one he received in January against Thwihli Thwahla and that sent him to the sin-bin for one match.
Meanwhile, midfielder Sithebe has had on-and-off season when it comes to game-time. Unfortunately, though, for Zwane and Chiefs, he will miss the coming clash against Babina Noko after receiving his fourth yellow card in the Nedbank Cup quarter-final again John Maduka’s side.
The 30-year-old has been playing a different role, which is more like a defensive midfielder than a creative midfielder and might have added to the reason for getting yellow cards.
Chiefs, however, need the three points to keep their hopes of finishing in second place and qualify for the CAF Champions League alive. They currently sit on 41 points, two behind third-placed Orlando Pirates and three behind second-placed SuperSport United, who have played one more game.
The other players missing with suspension this weekend are Cape Town City duo Fidel Brice Ambina and Phila Thabo Nodada, who will both miss the clash against Pirates, Bradly Cross and Ali Meza of Maritzburg United, Richards Bay’s Abel Mabaso, Royal AM duo Samuel Manganyi and Tebogo Potsane as well as Linathi Augustine Mbini and Tshegofatso Nyama.
