Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the release of defender Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya after six years at the club.
The 25-year-old left-back joined the club from SuperSport United back in 2016 where he excelled in the DStv Diski Challenge squad (reserve team) before earning a first-team promotion in January 2018.
He went on to become a regular fixture in the 2018/19 season under Giovanni Solinas and Ernst Middendorp but later fell out of favour when Gavin Hunt arrived the following campaign.
His fortunes didn’t change under Stuart Baxter either and was transfer-listed at the start of last season, however, he failed to attract suitors and remained at Amakhosi and made five appearances.
And he’s now been confirmed as part of 11 players who’ve been released at the Soweto giants while seven additions to the squad were unveiled on Monday.
“Kaizer Chiefs and Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya have come to a decision to part ways. The defender joined Chiefs’ development ranks before being promoted to the senior team in January 2018. Our well wishes to Siphosakhe for the future,” the club said in a statement.
Ntiya-Ntiya played for Chiefs 56 times in all competitions, registering two assists over the four full seasons in the first-team squad.
