Of course, Zwane could very well still be sacked by Chiefs which would give Khune another chance to retain his place as the leading goalkeeper at the club.
Khune could extend his stay by one more year if everything goes according to plan.
“Yes, he didn’t play much, but there are no issues between him and the coach. In fact, there is a possibility of him getting a new contract. It’s likely to be a short one, possibly a one-year deal, if it all goes according to plan between the parties,” an insider confirmed on SoccerLaduma.

Chiefs midfielder Keagan Dolly though appears likely to take over the role as club captain.
He has stood in when Khune has been on the sidelines but now looks set for the full-time job.
He has experience in Europe, having played for Montpellier in France. Furthermore, he is a Bafana Bafana international and has tasted PSL success with Mamelodi Sundowns.
At 30, he is one of the more experienced players in the Chiefs squad.
