Some Kaizer Chiefs supporters have demanded more clinical finishing from impressive striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana.
The fans took to social media to engage with Bimenyimana after he scored in the 2-1 win over Soweto rivals Swallows FC on Wednesday evening.
The Burundian striker scored in the first half before Keegan Dolly put the game to bed with the second goal.
Bimenyimana, as per his tradition, took to his Facebook page to celebrate the win.
However, the Burundian international has been giving measured one or two-word comments and, at times, mere emojis.
“3 points on the back. Fixed,”’ he wrote.
Such brief comments followed by some emojis were enough to ignite a positive response from the Chiefs’ army of fans.
FANS POSITIVE REACTION
Sitela Zuckay demanded more from former Rwanda’s Kiyovu Sports FC front man.
“Keep up the good work, boy. It would help if you still worked hard, though. He said, ” we need you to be clinical in front of goal posts and work on your left foot,” he said.
Jabulani Gumede seemed to share the sentiments of Zuckay, saying the Burundian should perfect his finishing.
“You could have scored more than two; please work on finishing. Your left is not powerful enough,” he said.
Nelisiwe Duma Mthombeni did not want to waste time and described the towering striker as “very impressive.”
Wandisile Nomboloshe also made a short and straightforward comment: “Keep up the good work.”
Another fan Nnana Khetsi has since said he would bank on the exploits of the Burundian in Sunday’s away game to Stellenbosch.
He wrote: “Be ready for Sunday’s game; we need a lot from you to make us proud.”
The Burundian appeared to have missed out on the signature for Chiefs after attending trials mid-this year.
Chiefs had released him, and he returned to Rwanda to train with SC Kiyovu.
At that stage, coach Zwane said he needed a striker with different qualities from what he saw in the Burundian.
CHIEFS U-TURN
However, the Chiefs coach made a U-turn after the 4-0 and 1-0 losses to Mamelodi Sundowns and Royal AM in the DStv Premiership.
In an exclusive interview with FARPost, the Burundian said he wanted to emulate these two Chiefs’ greats, Knowledge Musona and Collins Mbesuma.
“I won’t promise gold and diamonds, but I will work hard, making sure that I leave a mark just like my predecessors (Mbesuma, Musona) did. I am aware of what is expected from me… Hard work and consistency will put me there…,” Bimenyimana said.
The Zambian has, alongside legendary Jomo Sono, since reached out to Bimenyimana to offer him some advice on scoring.
Chiefs’ gamble on Bimenyimana seems to be paying off, and he has now scored three goals across all competitions.
