Chiefs & CT City Starting XIs Announced

Kaizer Chiefs and Cape Town City have announced their starting line-ups for this afternoon’s DStv Premiership clash at FNB Stadium.

It will be a direct battle for four place when four-placed Amakhosi host fifth-placed Cape Town City, with just two points separating them after 29 games.

Last week, it was confirmed that the Glamour Boys can no longer qualify for a CAF inter-club competition after a 1-0 defeat against Supersport United.

This afternoon, they are at risk of losing their home fixture for 2023/24 MTN8. Should they lose today to City they will drop to fifth, meaning they will play their MTN8 quarter-final away from home.

Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane will return to the bench after angry fans hurled objects in his direction at Royal Bafokeng Stadium and he got injured from a police shield in the process after his side had lost their third successive match.

Meanwhile, last season’s runners up, the Citizens have only lost one of their last 10 games and are unbeaten in four direct clashes.

City forward Khanyisa Mayo could claim the Golden Boot after netting eight goals in his last nine league games to climb to 12 overall.

Here is how they line up:

Chiefs XI: Khune, Hlanti, Ngcobo, Ngezana, Frosler, Maart, Sithebe, Zwane, Solomons, du Preez, Saile

Subs: Bvuma, Mathoho, Billiat, Nange, Kwinika, Dube, Mashiane, Shabalala

CT City XI: Keet, Cupido, Mokeke, Fielies, Van Heerden, Mokhuoane, Nodada, Mdantsane, Rhodes, Darwin, Mayo

Subs: Mpandle, Goodman, Mani, Lakay, Mkhize, Sifumba, Daniels, Oliaro, Slatsha
