Chiefs Confirm Two Players Out Of Gallants Clash

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that Samir Nurkovic and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo will not be available for their DStv Premiership clash with Marumo Gallants on Tuesday.

Zwane and his coaching team will be keen on avoiding their fifth successive defeat in the league – the fourth since Stuart Baxter left – when Amakhosi will host the Nedbank Cup finalists at FNB Stadium on Tuesday.

Zwane, though, confirmed that he will once again need to make changes to his starting XI after Nurkovic and Mshini pulled out of the squad.

“Those who are not available for this game are Samir (Nurkovic), who has a niggling injury. Nkosingiphile Ngcobo is also not available for selection, he’s got an injury,” he told the club’s media department.

“We have those who have been out, like Lebo (Manyama) and (Sfiso) Hlanti. Happy Mashiane will come in and will start on the bench.”

Zwane also insisted that his players want to end their recent negative run but also asked for more time because the team has to adjust to a new style of play.

“The boys are looking forward to the game. We’ve not been getting the results, but the energy levels look super,” he added.

“We just hope they can take the same energy into the game and give us a positive result.

“Expansive football sometimes takes a lot from players to adjust. You can see something good, but you find that by the time you get to the final third the energy levels have dropped a little bit, the concentration levels as well.

“We want that consistency and it will take some time. But as soon as everyone is in the loop and understands his roles and responsibilities clearly, it will make our lives easy.”

Chiefs will take on Dan Malesela’s Gallants’ at 19:30 at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday.
