Chiefs & Casric Starting XIs Announced

Kaizer Chiefs and Casric have announced their starting line-ups for their Nedbank Cup last-16 encounter at FNB Stadium this afternoon.

Over the years in the Nedbank Cup, we’ve witnessed Amakhosi struggling against lower division sides, losing to the likes of AmaTuks, Baroka, TS Galaxy in the final, and Richards Bay.

They have a chance now to end that stigma and eliminate high-flying Casric.

Arthur Zwane’s side has gone eight years without a trophy and they have the chance in the title – to end that horrible record.

But they will have to do all that without new forward Christian Saile Basomboli – who is suspended but Ashley du Preez returning provides a welcome boost.

Stars have nothing to lose as they come to this game as underdogs, also they have one eye in the automatic promotion as they sit third in the league table, three points behind log leaders Polokwane City.

They have the experience of Sinethemba Ludwe Mpakumpaku who has faced Chiefs twice in the Nedbank Cup and won both games.

The likes of Thabo Nthethe and Paulos Masehe will be helpful in the club as they work as assistant coaches under co-owner and head coach Buc Mthombeni.

Here is how they line up:

Chiefs XI: Petersen, Dove, Kwinika, Hlanti, Ngezana, Maart, Sithebe, Shabalala, Dolly, Mahlatsi, Bimenyimana.

Subs: Bvuma, Dube, Du Preez, Nj. Ngcobo, Radebe, Solomons, Mashiane, Zwane, Duba

Casric XI: Mpakumpaku, Tshoba, Taukobong, Gum, Mtshweni, Abubakar, Zwane, Malope, Milazi, Tlholoe, Mosadi
