Chiefs Announce Derby Starting XI

Kaizer Chiefs have announced their starting line-up for this afternoon’s Soweto Derby in the DStv Premiership at FNB Stadium.

Today, is derby number 176 as the Buccaneers host the Amakhosi, going into the clash as the in-form side after back-to-back wins and eliminating Mamelodi Sundowns from the MTN8.

Chiefs, meanwhile, are coming to this after getting knocked out of the MTN8 semi-final by AmaZulu FC, who progressed thanks to their away goal in the first leg.

Chiefs last won a league game on the 9 October when they beat Stellenbosch FC in Cape Town by 3-1.

The Amakhosi, though, come into this game with a good record against Pirates after beating them twice last season and having won the last three in a row. They could win four successive derbies for the first time since 1991 and 1992.

Overall, Chiefs have 72 derbies, while Pirates have only collected 44. However, on Saturday they will have to do without Itumeleng Khune and Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana, who didn’t recover on time.
