Chadwick Boseman’s family sues widow over estate

Taylor Simone Ledward, the wife of Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman, is facing off with his family over his estate six years after the actor’s death.

Boseman succumbed after his long battle with colon cancer at the age of 43, leaving behind his wife, whom he married shortly before his death.

USA Today reports that Ledward inherited half of the estate, while Boseman’s parents, Leroy and Carolyn Boseman, each inherited 25%, according to the court petition.

But Boseman’s brothers say that Ledward, acting as the estate administrator, still has not handed out the property, breaking a clear order on purpose.

They say Ledward lacks transparency, which they said “creates the appearance that she is concealing assets” from his family, reports the BBC.

Boseman and Ledward had been together since 2015, but only married months before his death.

In November 2025, Boseman was posthumously honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Ledward accepted the honour on his behalf.
