Caster Semenya and wife mark a milestone in their marriage

Olympic champion Caster Semenya and her wife, Violet, are celebrating a meaningful milestone in their love story, marking nine years of marriage and more than a decade together as a couple.

The pair, who dated for seven years before tying the knot, recently took to social media to commemorate their wedding anniversary, sharing intimate moments that reflected both their journey and gratitude for the years they have spent side by side.

In a deeply personal message, Semenya reflected on the strength and spiritual foundation of their union.

“Today marks the ninth chapter of our union; nke Modimo le Badimo barena ba re kgontshe go feta mo. Moshate,” she wrote, expressing appreciation for divine guidance and ancestral protection throughout their marriage.

Their celebration was one of love, resilience and faith, themes echoed by another well-known couple, Kagiso Modupe and his wife Liza, who also marked a major relationship milestone this week.

The pair celebrated seven years of marriage with a joint Instagram post that offered an honest reflection on the realities of married life.

“Marriage has taught us that love is not found only in the beautiful moments but also in the stretching seasons that test patience, deepen faith and refine character,” they shared.

“It has not always been an easy road, but through every high and every low, the grace of God has carried us.”

The couple went on to reflect on the role of faith in sustaining their relationship through uncertainty and challenge.

“There were moments we had to lean on prayer more than understanding, choose commitment over convenience, and trust God even when the way forward wasn’t clear. And still, here we are. Standing. Growing. Stronger. Wiser. More grateful.”

As they celebrated another year together, Kagiso and Liza described their marriage as a testament to perseverance and shared belief.

“Today we celebrate not just the years but the faithfulness of God, the lessons learnt, the love that has matured, and the covenant that continues to hold us together. We are living proof that when God is at the centre, love endures. Happy anniversary to us.”
