Cardi B sells new album on sidewalk in viral TikTok

Cardi B shared a viral TikTok on Sunday, 7 September, where she pretended to sell copies of her upcoming album Am I the Drama? on a New York sidewalk.

The project drops on 19 September, marking her first full record in more than seven years.

CARDI B HITS THE STREETS

In the clip, Cardi dressed down in a hoodie, sweatpants, and a Rasta beanie. She spread vinyls and CDs over a blanket like a street vendor.

Waving incense, she shouted out mock prices to passersby as reggae music played in the background, according to People.

She captioned the video: “My label said I gotta get out in these streets and sell this album LINK IN BIO.”

The stunt follows her victory in a recent R456 million lawsuit, in which she was cleared of assault and battery claims from a former security guard.

CARDI B’S COURTROOM MEMES

Riding that momentum, Cardi began selling limited “courtroom edition” covers of the new album this month.

The artwork features viral meme photos from her testimony. “Look! By popular demand, the courtroom edition of Am I The Drama? is available now,” she announced.

A FEW FEATURES ON THE ALBUM

Cardi B has spoken with fans about the music itself. In March, she told listeners on X Spaces: “It won’t have a lot of features, but the ones I have are really good.

Some I’ve worked with before, some I haven’t. And it’s such a vibe. I’m 100 percent confident with this album.” She added: “I just don’t think what I got is out there.”

GRAMMY SUCCESS

In a Billboard cover story, she admitted she still dreams of Grammy success but stressed her true goal.

“Success for me will be people saying, ‘She put out a great album.’ If at 3 a.m. people are talking about it, that’s success.”

For South African fans, the wait is almost over. Am I the Drama? arrives worldwide on 19 September, and Cardi B is making sure everyone knows it.
