Join Us for Cape Town’s Biggest Cake Picnic!

Love cake? Then don’t miss this sweet summer event in one of Cape Town’s most beautiful gardens. The Cape Town Cake Picnic will take place on the 13th of September @11:00am to 3:00pm.

Fee: R100

What is a Cake Picnic?

It’s simple. Everyone brings a cake. We lay them out on long tables. Together, we build the city’s biggest cake table.

First, we admire the cakes. Photos and videos are encouraged. Then we cut and share. Every cake is sliced and served fairly. You’ll get to try a wide range of delicious homemade cakes.

Bring a blanket, relax on the lawn, and enjoy the afternoon with friends and fellow cake lovers.

What to Bring

  • One whole cake (no cake = no entry, even with a ticket)
  • Picnic blanket
  • Your ticket

  • Drinks (non-alcoholic only)

  • Sunhat, sunscreen, and your sweet tooth

Event Schedule

  • 11:00 – 11:30 Cake Viewing (photos and videos only, no cutting yet)

  • 11:30 – 12:00 Cake Cutting (cut your cake into 10+ slices)

  • 12:00 – 15:00 Cake Tasting & Picnicking (tasting happens in groups of 20)

Important

Arrive by 11:00 sharp to get your tasting group number. First come, first served.

House Rules

  • Max 10 slices per person

  • No alcohol, no smoking, no disruptive behaviour

  • No littering, no climbing trees

  • Cakes must be labelled with ingredients and allergen info

  • Include notes like “halaal” or “gluten-free” if needed

Parking and Transport

  • Limited parking on Main Rd and Church St

  • Overflow parking may be available nearby (watch for signs)

Come ready to share, taste, and celebrate community through cake. We can’t wait to see your creation!
