Cape Town businessman killed in attempted kidnapping

A Cape Town businessman has been shot dead during what is believed to have been an attempted kidnapping.

It is alleged that three armed men tried to hijack or kidnap the victim outside his business in Lansdowne Friday morning and police are investigating. There is been an alarming rise in kidnappings in the country.

The City of Cape Town says it is exploring ways to better protect its citizens.
