On 24 May 2023, the Tembisa police responded to a distress call regarding a murder in front of house 802 Hospitalview, RTJ Namane Street, Tembisa.
A 42-year-old man was brutally assaulted and killed by a group of individuals who claimed to be patrollers, accusing him of cable theft.

Mabitsela urged the community to refrain from engaging in such acts and emphasized the importance of allowing the justice system to handle criminal cases through proper legal procedures.
The police continue to encourage community members to assist in apprehending suspects and recovering stolen property, but they stress the importance of handing them over to the police for investigation and allowing the justice system to take its course.
