Minister in the Presidency Mondli Gungubele says cabinet is concerned by the recent spike in Covid-19 cases. He says this was one of the key takeaways from the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday.

There has been a notable increase in infections, with the country recording just over 10,000 new cases in the last 24 hours. Gungubele is urging people to continue adhering to Covid-19 regulations.

“The virus is still a constant threat and vaccination remains the most effective weapon to protect ourselves,” he said. Cabinet is pleased that more people continue to choose vaccination as their first line of defence against Covid-19.
