‘Bye Limerick’: Springbok star Jean Kleyn and family move to their new home!

On 11 July, Springbok and former Munster lock Jean Kleyn, along with his family, officially moved from their charming home in Limerick to another country.

This relocation follows Jean’s new career path to Gloucester, an English Premiership rugby club in England, after playing for Munster since 2016.

In a heartfelt tribute to Munster, Jean expressed his utmost gratitude to his teammates and staff, whom he regarded as family.

“Munster has been so much more than a club to me — it has been a family, a home, and a place where I’ve grown both on and off the field,” he wrote.

THE KLEYNS ARE MOVING FROM LIMERICK TO ENGLAND

Aisling Kleyn, the beautiful wife of Jean, penned a beautiful tribute to their first family house, which was more than just a house, but a haven beaming with many special moments.

The mother of two shared that they will truly miss everyone who created “unforgettable memories” with them, expressing deep gratitude for their presence.

“Officially off. Leaving is never easy. Today we are leaving our first family home. We are not just leaving a house but a place that built us as a family,” she began.

“It has seen laughter, celebrations, quiet moments, and everyday chaos that make us who we are. As excited as we are about our new chapter, part of our hearts will always remain in this garden and everyone we have shared it with,” she added.

“We will miss all the faces that filled our home and love how all of our families have grown throughout the years. Thank you for filling it with laughter, noise, and unforgettable memories. We are honoured to have a home and people so worth missing. Love you all. Bye, Limerick,” she wrote.

2026 HAS PRESENTED NEW CHAPTERS FOR THE KLEYNS

The year 2026 has rolled out some new chapters for Jean and Aisling. In addition to moving to a new country, they happily welcomed their rainbow baby girl, Elsje-Mae Kleyn, in May, following an intense in vitro fertilisation (IVF) journey.

Describing the arrival of her daughter, Aisling wrote:

“I will be forever in awe of how a normal day can end up holding the most extraordinary joy. We are absolutely obsessed with our little sunrise baby,” she wrote.

“She is everything and more. Her name translates as God’s promise & that is exactly what she is,” she added.
