Bruno Reveals Truth About Ronaldo Handshake

Manchester United and Portugal midfielder Bruno Fernandes has set the record straight on his frosty handshake with Cristiano Ronaldo after his explosive interview.

Ronaldo gave an in-depth interview to Piers Morgan, during which hit out at Manchester United and coach Erik ten Hag, saying he “feels betrayed” and “forced out of the club”.

The interview is understood to have not been well received by many of Ronaldo’s teammates and a day later Fernandes appeared very cold towards Ronaldo for a handshake when the two met at the Portugal training camp.

However, Fernandes has now dismissed those claims, saying he sees Ronaldo every day in training, hence his greeting to the Portugal captain was a bit colder than to other he hasn’t seen in a while.

“Do you think that? I was smiling,” he told Ojora Babtunde of OJB Sports.

“I had the bag in my hand, I put the bag on my place, I give him a hand like everybody else.

“But Cristiano I see him every day in training sessions. It’s no like ‘oh, long time no see you’. It’s normal, I think.

“There is no history behind that. Media trying to make it bigger to make people talk and we know talking about Cristiano creates a big thing.”

Portugal were drawn in Group H at the World Cup, alongside Ghana, Uruguay and South Korea. They will open their tournament against the Black Stars on 24 November.
