Broos – What I Told Bafana Players At HT

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has revealed what he told his players at half-time in their comeback win over Mozambique.

South Africa collected their third successive win thanks to a second-half brace by Bongokuhle Hlongwane despite going behind in the first 15 minutes of the game.

Broos’ men looked a changed team in the second half and Broos insisted he told his players to remain calm and and keep on playing.

“I just asked the boys to go on, we didn’t play bad, certainly not,” he told SABC Sport after the match.

“But we played against an opponent who played very, very close to their goal and then they waited and then via very quick counters they tried to be dangerous.

“But we controlled it, we controlled it very good. So I said to them ‘go on, go on and play, let the ball go, don’t run too much with the ball and you can see we can win the game’ and we won it.”

Bafana will now take on Angola before their massive break until the two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Liberia in March.
