According to Entertainment Commentator Phil Mphela, South African Actress and SAFTA recipient Brenda Ngxoli reportedly quit local telenovela The Queen.
After a seven-year-long sabbatical to pursue farming, Brenda joined the cast of The Queen in the year 2020.
Brenda played the role of NomaPrincess “Noma” Matshikiza in the telenovela series, who was not only the best friend of Harriet Khoza, but was indebted to Harriet after borrowing millions of Rands without paying it back.
Despite being forgiven by Harriet; Noma didn’t think twice to betray her “best friend” again, as she aired Harriet’s dirty laundry to the public, revealing that Kea, Harriet’s daughter, was a product of Harriet’s adulterous life.
After three years of playing Noma on The Queen, it is reported that Brenda resigned due to salary issues that could not be resolved.
Brenda, however, denies claims of exploitation by production company Ferguson Films.
The actress took to Twitter to express her frustration about the alleged reasons for her departure from the telenovela series.
“… I’ve repeatedly lamented how well Connie Ferguson and the Ferguson Films pay and treat me!!!”, Brenda mentioned in a tweet.
Phil Mphela also reported that The Queen Mzansi has been canceled and will not be renewed for another season after seven years on television.
Mzansi Magic and Ferguson Films have not confirmed nor denied Phil Mphela’s claims.
