Layla Kolbe, the wife of Springboks full back Cheslin Kolbe, shared a touching post of their kids saying goodbye to their dad via an Instagram post on Monday 25 May.

LAYLA KOLBE ON CHESLIN MOVING BACK TO SOUTH AFRICA

Cheslin Kolbe’s wife, Layla revealed that she has packed up their stuff in Japan and returning to South Africa after being away from their kids for three weeks. Layla and Cheslin have three kids together – Kylah (6), Mila Sky (3) and Cayden (1).

She also revealed that she was leaving earlier than Cheslin because she wanted to be there for their daughter’s market day. Take a look…

“9 years abroad. 3 years in 2 countries- living 24hours apart- solo parenting. Countless memories. This move comes with sacrifice, but some sacrifices are worth making. Time is the one thing we can never get back and we’ve chosen to invest it where it matters most.

“Leaving Japan is breaking our hearts a little. We loved this chapter more than words can say. But sometimes life calls you home and we’re choosing to be closer to family and the moments that matter most. Japan, thank you for everything,” she continued.

“Not goodbye. See you again one day. ❤️🇯🇵🇿🇦,” she added.

CHESLIN KOLBE TO RETURN TO SA

Cheslin revealed that he will be returning home for his next chapter in May. Since then, it has been revealed that he will be joining the DHL Stormers in Cape Town.

“Cheslin is a son of this community and has remained a staunch DHL Stormers fan his whole life. He gives such hope and inspiration to our fans, so to have him back in our club colours is huge,” said Director of Rugby John Dobson according to a statement by the DHL Stormers.

“As a player, he can do things on the field that nobody else can. Beyond that, his attitude and work ethic are second to none, and his presence in the squad is sure to lift everyone around him.”

“Cheslin will play an invaluable role for us both on and off the field as we continue to develop our squad. He will be 35 in 2029 and beyond the obvious strike power he will offer, he will also provide the ideal example for the young talent coming through in terms of his discipline, conditioning, versatility and work ethic.”
