Suspected Multimillion-Rand Mandrax Lab Uncovered Near Hartbeespoort Dam
Police have uncovered a suspected multimillion-rand Mandrax manufacturing laboratory at a plot near Hartbeespoort Dam in the North West.
SAPS members remain at the property as the operation continues. Officers discovered a facility believed to have been used to manufacture Mandrax, with North West Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Adams also at the scene.
Police have not yet disclosed the quantity of drugs recovered or their estimated street value. No arrests have been confirmed at this stage.
The operation today, Tuesday afternoon, comes amid a series of major Mandrax laboratory busts across Gauteng and the North West.
Last month, police raided a suspected Mandrax laboratory in Erasmia, where they said the facility had the capacity to produce about 800,000 tablets a day.
SAPS has not confirmed whether the Hartbeespoort operation is linked to the Erasmia investigation.
