Five Killed In Five-Vehicle Crash Outside Louis Trichardt
Five people have been killed and two others injured in a head-on collision involving five vehicles, including a South African Police Service (SAPS) vehicle, on the R524 about five kilometres outside Louis Trichardt in Limpopo today, Tuesday.
One of the injured people is in a critical condition, while the other sustained serious injuries. Both were transported to hospital by ambulance.
Limpopo MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Nakedi Kekana, expressed sadness over the crash and urged motorists to slow down, ensure their vehicles are roadworthy and avoid reckless driving.
The road has since been reopened, but motorists are urged to exercise caution in the area as investigations continue.
The cause of the collision has not yet been established.
