Jomo Cosmos might just bounce back to the GladAfrica Championship if Hungry Lions are docked points by the Premier Soccer League disciplinary committee.

Lions have been summoned to appear before the PSL DC on Monday, 27 June at 17:30.

They are accused of fielding a defaulter Tshepo Mohlala in 10 of their GladAfrica Championship matches.

They collected 12 points from the matches and if found guilty the Northern Cape side could be docked points and subsequently relegated to the SAFA amateur football. Such a development would see Jomo Sono’s Ezenkosi get another bite of the cherry in the second tier.

FARPost has in its possession the charge sheet from the league signed by PSL prosecutor Zola Majavu on 22 June 2022.

“The first respondent (Hungry Lions) fielded the second respondent (Tshepo Mohlala) in the fixtures referred to in 3 above when the said player was never cleared by the Jomo Cosmos FC, thus resulting in the said players registration with the first respondent being null and void,” wrote the PSL in the charge sheet.

Cosmos were relegated to the ABC Motsepe League after finishing second from bottom with 28 points. Lions finished 11th with 36 points and if they lose the points can finish bottom of the log with 23 points.
