Brown Mogotsi Denied Bail For A Fourth Time
North West businessman Brown Mogotsi has lost another bail bid, his fourth since his arrest in May.
Magistrate Annalise Tlhapi ruled there were no new facts before the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court, saying the application was a reshuffling of evidence from earlier failed attempts.
The court said it could not ignore reports that Mogotsi allegedly planned to escape by disguising himself as a correctional services official. The State opposed bail, arguing he remains a flight risk.
The matter has been postponed to 1 October for trial arrangements.
Mogotsi remains in custody.
He faces charges linked to an alleged staged assassination attempt in Vosloorus in November 2025.
