Brakkies Sets Sekhukhune Target After Impressive Start

Sekhukhune United head coach Brandon Truter wants his side to continue their dominance at home so that opponents know that when they come to Polokwane they will not return with many points.
This is after Ba Bina Noko maintained their unbeaten home record under Truter with a 2-0 league win against Richards Bay over the weekend, a result that saw them move to sixth position on the log with 27 points.
Truter wants consistency from his charges to be able to stay within the top 8 bracket in the remaining matches.
“We want to maintain our home record, we want to maintain [it] so that teams understand that when you come here you are coming for a point or less, that’s why we want to stay unbeaten at home,” he said.
“So right now, we are on the right track and the boys must continue giving the effort and just be confident. We are building at the moment, there is progress you are seeing and here and there we can still make improvements.
“It is very important that we keep picking up points. I think the league is very tight going into the last 10 games. You can see from bottom to eighth, seventh position it is very tight.
“I think it is three or four points, so it is important that we keep on picking up points whether it’s a draw or it’s a win, but it’s important that we don’t lose.
“I’m sure once we maintain picking up points we’ll stay in the top 8.”
Sekhukhune next host Cape Town City in the DStv Premiership at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday afternoon (17:30).
