For the second game running, Bafana Bafana winger Bongokuhle put on a man-of-the-match performance for his MLS side Minnesota United.
The former Maritzburg United scored his second goal for the club in an eight-goal thriller, as they drew 4-4 with Portland Timbers FC.
His 21st-minute goal was sandwiched by a Franco Fragapane opener and a Luis Amarilla brace as they stretched their unbeaten run to seven games.
After breaking the duck with his first MLS goal last weekend, the 22-yea-old was named to the Major League Soccer Team of the week. The feat came after another man-of-the-match performance in which he scored the winner in a 2-1 win over Houston Dynamo.
In the same match, the Pietermaritzburg-born star provided an assist for Franco Fragapane for their other goal.
‘Saniza’, as he is affectionately known back home, moved to the US in February this year after catching the eye of the club’s scouts through his stellar performances for Bafana.
He has been a consistent feature in Hugo Broos’ national team while he continues to establish himself as a vital cog for Minnesota.
