Bonang Slams Nathi Mthethwa’s Congrats Tweet To Banyana Banyana: “So Useless”

The minister of sport, arts and culture Nathi Mthethwa must know by now that he’s in Bonang Matheba’s bad book and today she just had to choose violence.

Early this morning, Nathi Mthethwa’s congratulatory message to Banyana Banyana was slammed by the media personality, who said he should instead give them money.

As is customary, the minister took to Twitter to congratulate the national women’s soccer team on their semifinal win over Zambia in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (Wafcon) on Monday evening.

He added to his message to the women in his attached postcard-style photo, saying their victory demonstrated SA’s great potential to become “globally competitive.”

Bonang was one of the Twitter users who told the minister to give money to the women instead of his “useless” tweet. She implied that if the minister had an R30m orchestra budget, rewarding the women’s soccer team should be a piece of cake, before suggesting that he resign.
