AKA’s death: Bonang blue-ticks ex shows love for Tibz. South Africa’s celebrity community is mourning after the recent death of rapper AKA the real name Kiernan Forbes. The musician was shot and killed in Durban on February 10th, causing many of his colleagues in the entertainment industry to pay their respects. However, one notable absence in the tributes is AKA’s ex-girlfriend, Bonang Matheba.

The media mogul and the musician were in a relationship from 2015 to 2018. However, their relationship ended on bad terms. While many celebrities in South Africa have taken to social media to pay their respects to AKA, Bonang has remained silent.

She has not tweeted anything since February 7th, three days before the rapper’s death, and she has not publicly acknowledged his passing. However, she did like a post from South African comedian Loyiso Gola paying tribute to AKA’s friend, Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.

On the other hand, AKA’s other ex and baby mama, DJ Zinhle, broke her silence over the weekend. She took to Instagram Stories to remember the rapper as a hands-on father to their daughter, Kairo Forbes. She also acknowledged AKA’s relationship with his current girlfriend, Nadia Nakai.

The relationship between AKA and Bonang was a high-profile one. Howeverr, it was also a volatile one. According to DJ Zinhle, their relationship started as an affair when she was pregnant with their daughter, Kairo.

This was an allegation that AKA later admitted to. The couple eventually split in 2018 over allegations of cheating on Bonang’s part.

The rapper later released a diss track called “Beyonce”, in which he threw shade at his ex, who was commonly referred to as the “Queen B”. He accused her of witchcraft after alleging that he found “rocks” in his wardrobe after their split.

In conclusion, while many South African celebrities are mourning the loss of AKA, Bonang Matheba’s silence on the matter is noticeable. Despite the tumultuous nature of their relationship, the death of a fellow industry colleague is a reminder that life is short and should be cherished.
