Boipelo Mooketsi wins at Basadi In Music Awards

South African radio personality Boipelo Mooketsi has scooped the Entertainment Radio Presenter of the Year award at the 5th annual Basadi In Music Awards that took place from 7 to 8 August 2026. She received her well-deserved win for her immaculate work within the radio space and is still beaming with joy from it.

The versatile media personality, who started her broadcasting journey in 2017 at VOW FM, was nominated among other names such as Lebo Maoela (Lesedi FM), Lerato Kganyago (Metro FM), Bolele Polisa (947) and Lebo Ndiya (Motsweding FM).

Currently the host of the 5 After Hours show on 5FM every Monday to Thursday from 10pm until 1am, the AFDA graduate continues to fly the flag even higher, not just for herself, but for her hometown Kimberley too. She also brings her youthful energy to 5FM’s Vibe Check, where she serves as a digital host and producer.

The multi-talented star shared, “Winning this award and getting recognition for the work I do means the world to me because I put my heart and soul into it. This is also a reflection of the giant community of people behind me who all came together and supported me on this journey.

“I am extremely grateful to God, my family, friends, SABC/5FM and my listeners.”

Boipelo, who also won Radio Personality of the Year at the Northern Cape Awards in 2021, is definitely one of South Africa’s media personalities to watch, as she continues to make her undeniable mark.
