Black Coffee’s girlfriend, Victoria Gonzalez, has stirred fresh conversation after opening up about the early days of her relationship with the global DJ.

Speaking in front of guests at the 50th birthday of Black Coffee, whose real name is Nkosinathi Maphumulo, the model shared a personal account of their first encounter.

“I first met Nathi, back in 2019, no, 2018, actually, at a dinner table with friends,” she said.

“I had absolutely no idea who he was. And honestly, I’m very happy about that.”

According to Gonzalez, not knowing his global status allowed her to connect with him on a more human level rather than being influenced by his celebrity.

“Because I didn’t see the fame, and I didn’t see the legend. I simply saw a man. A man who made me laugh. A man with confidence and incredible style,” she added.

Reflecting on that moment, she described it as a blessing that shaped how their relationship developed over time.

“Looking back, I realise that that was a gift. I got to meet Nathi before I met Black Coffee.”
