DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small make history with sold-out Scorpion Kings Live at Loftus Stadium

DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small are being celebrated across South Africa after pulling off one of the biggest concerts in the country’s music history.

The amapiano duo, famously known as the Scorpion Kings, shut down the 51,762-capacity Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria on Friday night with their highly anticipated Scorpion Kings Live show.

The historic performance quickly topped social media trend lists, with fans praising the duo’s effort and artistry.

Following the event, their joint EP Scorpion Kings re-entered the Apple Music South Africa Top 20 Albums Chart, further highlighting the impact of their success.

Music veterans, colleagues, and celebrities flooded social media with congratulatory messages.

Oskido, who attended the concert, wrote: “Loftus became sacred ground. @djmaphorisa’s mother watched her son & @kabzadesmall_ make history. Fans, artists, and ancestors felt that energy. This was bigger than music.”

Zakes Bantwini also shared his praise, tweeting: “Scorpion Kings @KabzaDeSmall_ @DjMaphorisa congrats gents.”

Global house superstar Black Coffee added: “History was made. Well done gents.”

Lady Du expressed heartfelt admiration for the pair’s hard work, writing: “I just want to take a moment to tell you how proud I am of all of you. I’ve seen the long hours, the dedication, and the countless little details you’ve poured your hearts into to make this event happen. It’s not easy, but you’ve shown so much strength, creativity, and teamwork.”

She continued, “No matter what, please remember that your effort already speaks volumes. You’re creating something special, and the passion you’re putting into it is inspiring. Take a breath, trust yourselves, and know that everyone around you is cheering for you. You’ve got this, and I’m so grateful to call such hardworking, talented people my friends.”
