Black Coffee to celebrate late Virgil Abloh’s 45th birthday with Drake

South African DJ and producer Black Coffee has penned a heartfelt tribute to the late fashion icon Virgil Abloh on what would have been his 45th birthday.

Taking to Instagram, the Grammy-winning artist shared a series of photos and videos capturing moments he shared with Abloh, reflecting on the designer’s impact and enduring legacy.

“We didn’t do all we wanted to do, but you alone selflessly did enough to inspire generations and generations to come. Even though you are physically gone, your passion, love and light will shine through forever. I and many others will carry this spirit in everything we do. Happy heavenly 45th birthday brother @virgilabloh,” Black Coffee wrote.

The tribute comes ahead of a special event later this month that will celebrate Abloh’s life and influence across music, fashion, and art.

The Louis Vuitton artistic director, who passed away in 2021 after a private battle with cancer, remains one of the most influential creative figures of his generation.

Through his post, Black Coffee joined millions worldwide in remembering Abloh not just as a pioneer in design, but as a source of inspiration whose work and spirit continue to resonate.
