Black Coffee claps back at ‘abuse’ allegations: ‘Do you have proof?’

Black Coffee – real name Nkosinathi Maphumulo – has threatened legal action against a social media user who accused him of financially and physically abusing his ex-wife, Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa.

The former couple announced their marriage separation in 2019 after eight years together. Their divorce was finalised last year.

BLACK COFFEE CLAPS BACK AT ABUSE ALLEGATIONS

On the X app, Black Coffee issued a stern warning to a user who made serious allegations about the demise of his marriage to his ex, Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa.

The X user – @amahashi_ – compared Enhle to another actress, Nandi Madida, whose recent comments about black men  trended online.

While the tweep claimed Nandi was married to a “good man” – musician Zakes Bantwini – she claimed Enhle was not so lucky

Referring to Black Coffee, the tweep claimed Enhle “married a terrible man and endured domestic and financial abuse. She speaks from the reality that no matter how good you are as a wife, how much you serve, how much you do ‘right’, none of that guarantees a good marriage”.

The tweep added that Enhle supported her husband and his career.

In the comment section, Black Coffee clapped back: “Do you have any proof of this financial and domestic abuse? I could threaten legal action against your baseless accusations, but instead, I’ll go to your level.

The DJ went on to insult the woman with an infamous South African swear word.

He added: “Uthetha umnqundu [you are talking nonsense]. Just because I’m quiet doesn’t mean I don’t have a voice”.

MONEY AND ABUSE ALLEGATIONS

In 2021, Enhle Mbali made headlines when she accused Black Coffee of not paying the electricity bill at their Johannesburg home.

At the time, the couple were separated.

Enhle posted a clip on her Instagram of her sitting in the dark, stating: “We’re going to shame the devil and the darkness. Me and my boys”

Black Coffee clapped back at the claims on his X account.

Addressing his ex, he posted: “Stop lying!!! The lies are too much. I won’t be quiet anymore. The children you publicly claim to be protecting are suffering because (of) your lifestyle.

He added, “I’ve been taking care of all the household expenses. I take care of all the kids and their schedules.

“On top of all this, from November I’ve been paying 65K towards you and the kids. After our separation, I got you a fully paid car in your name”.

Enhle Mbali has also publicly accused her ex of “gaslighting, emotional and verbal abuse, physical abuse and financial abuse”.

In a lengthy Instagram post, also in 2021, Enhle alleged Black Coffee had “beaten, berated, rendered me broken and unworthy.” She claimed that since the start of their divorce proceedings, her ex had “continually used intimidation and financial muscle in an attempt to silence me.”

Black Coffee, again, responded via his X account, accusing the mother of his two sons of “misleading the public”.

He tweeted in a thread: “Divorce is never easy, but for us it has been especially painful, and I’ve spent the last 3 years in and out of intense therapy to deal with it privately”.

He added, “Every day I am attacked by relentless lies and falsehoods. I DID NOT ASSAULT HER”
