Kaizer Chiefs and Khama Billiat are set for crunch talks over the player’s future, with his contract set to expire in July.

Amakhosi seem keen to retain the services of Billiat despite his injury struggles this campaign, iDiski Times has learnt.

Billiat, 32, hasn’t featured for Arthur Zwane’s side since 2022 FIFA World Cup break, even though he has returned to the training pitch in recent weeks.

Despite feature in just nine league games this season, Chiefs and the attacking midfielder are currently in talks over a potential one-year extension at the club, this publication has learnt.

The 32-year-old is widely considered as one of the best players in the PSL but has somewhat failed to live up to expectations since moving to Naturena from Mamelodi Sundowns in 2018.

Chiefs are open to retaining the Zimbabwe international, whose contract is set to expire in July. But it is believed the player has a one-year option should both parties agree on terms of the renewal.

Overall, Billiat has made 125 appearances for the Glamour Boys, scoring 24 goals and setting up 29 more.

This story first appeared in the rumours section of this week’s iDiski Times newspaper, edition 103.

DO YOU THINK CHIEFS SHOULD TIE BILLIAT DOWN TO ANOTHER YEAR?
