Big blow for Kelly Khumalo as fans stop buying tickets to her upcoming concerts

Amid the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial and her name being linked to it, Kelly Khumalo is living her life unapologetically – and free.

The singer is due to perform at several events this long weekend despite being mentioned in the controversy surrounding the Bafana Bafana captain’s death almost a decade ago.

At the time of his death on 26 October 2014, Senzo was dating Kelly Khumalo at the Vosloorus home of her mother Ntombi Khumalo.

Also, present in the home when Meyiwa was shot and killed was Kelly’s sister Zandie and her boyfriend Longwe Twala, and Senzo’s two friends Mthokozisi Thwala and Tumelo Madlala.

Kelly’s two children: Christian – whom she shares with ex Jub Jub – and Thingo, the daughter of Meyiwa, were also present.

Despite five men being on trial for the alleged murder of Senzo Meyiwa, it has been long speculated that he was killed by one of the seven surviving adults in the home at the time of his death.

Kelly’s name has been trending on Twitter after the Seno Meyiwa murder trial resumed in the Pretoria High Court.

And tweeps are calling for Kelly to be scrapped from her upcoming gig this weekend.

The singer is due to perform at the gospel concert Sunday Soul Sessions on Sunday 1 May alongside stars Judith Sephuma and Ami Faku.

@LilRacing_: “Nah man. Kelly Khumalo’s life can’t just continue like that. Stop booking her.

@TheRiseofAkim: “#SenzoMeyiwatrial I’m canceling my ticket. Kelly Khumalo should come clean, this is not right. You can’t live like you know nothing about what happened that night”

@ChantelRall: “How Kelly’s life is just continuing as normal baffles me. How does she even sleep at night? We have to stop treating Kelly Khumalo like a victim, she’s a witness! Senzo’s family deserves Justice! #SenzoMeyiwatrial”

@PitsoMokoena4: “Why can’t we cancel Kelly Khumalo in every sphere of the industry the same way we always see people being canceled, predominantly males”

Tweeps have also brought Kelly Khumalo’s ex-boyfriend Jub Jub into the mix after he broke his social media hiatus on Thursday.

Earlier this year, Jub Jub was given an ultimatum to apologise to Kelly Khumalo for his comments about her in his Podcast and Chill interview with MacG in December 2021.

According to reports, Moja Love distanced themselves from the Uyajola 9/9 presenter after he insulted his baby mama and even claimed she used “muti” on him.

But tweeps are also doing a U-turn about the star after he was initially slammed for his “degrading” comments.

@Nkulu_DBN: “Jub Jub warned us about this kelly Khumalo. #SenzoMeyiwatrial”

@Disebo_Dee15: “Jub Jub was forced to apologize to Kelly Khumalo for saying she uses muti. Yet no one is canceling Kelly Khumalo until she is proven innocent of Senzo Meyiwa’s murder. Let the tables turn”

@khosi_magwaza: “Jub Jub became the public number one enemy because he exposed the real Kelly Khumalo. Jub Jub mentioned something about her… she uses ‘muti’. She is doing that same s**t to block everybody from seeing her as a suspect in this. #JusticeForSenzo”

Meanwhile, Jub Jub is promoting his new single Amaswidi. He is also filming the new season of Uyajola 9/9.
