Beyoncé becomes the latest musician to join the billionaires club

Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has reportedly joined the billionaires club, becoming the fifth musician to do so.

Beyoncé joins four musicians before her: Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen and Rihanna, reports Forbes.

According to Forbes, the Dangerously in Love singer’s 2023 The Renaissance World Tour grossed nearly $600 million.

But Beyoncé’s 2024 country album, Cowboy Carter, ultimately earned her billionaire status. This is after a very successful Cowboy Carter Tour, an NFL halftime performance, and other related commercial opportunities.

According to 9News, the singer’s financial ascent began in 2010, when she founded Parkwood Entertainment and began managing her career herself. The company oversees her music, films, documentaries, and concert productions, often fronting the costs in exchange for a larger share of long-term profits.

“When I decided to manage myself, it was important that I didn’t go to some big management company,” Beyoncé said in an interview. “I wanted to be a powerhouse and have my own empire.”

Although the lion’s share of Beyoncé’s money is generated through her music, she owns other successful businesses, such as her hair care brand Cécred and whiskey label SirDavis. Her clothing line, Ivy Park, was discontinued in 2024.

Some of Beyoncé’s career highlights

After being at the helm of Destiny’s Child as the lead singer since she was a teen, Beyoncé launched her solo career with successful and out-of-the-box albums like Lemonade, Renaissance, and Cowboy Carter.

She is also the most-awarded artist in Grammy history, with 35 awards.

Beyoncé, the family woman

Beyoncé has been married to rapper and businessman, Jay Z, whose real name is Sean Carter, since April 2008, and they have three children together.

Their eldest daughter is Blue Ivy (13), with twins Rumi and Sir (8).
