‘Better than nothing’: Bab’ Phakathi’s happy ending on ‘X‑Repo’

Xolani’s intervention from Moja Love’s X-Repo helped Bab’ Mfana Phakathi, who was embroiled in a bitter feud with his stepdaughter for many years, get his happy ending in last night’s episode (19 April).

‘X-REPO’ COMES TO BAB’ PHAKATHI’S RESCUE

Bab’ Phakathi and his ex-wife were in the process of divorcing when she sadly passed away. He left her the house, while he moved to a different area because she was unemployed.

Bab’ Phakathi struggled to get through to his ex-wife’s daughter, Thembi, who currently lives in her mother’s house.

He reached out for assistance in recovering his assets, which included couches, a fridge, a car, three beds, a washing machine, and a table.

The former couple didn’t have any children together. Thembi is from her mother’s previous relationship.

A COMMOTION ENSUED UPON ARRIVAL

Armed with the letter of authority from the high court, Bab’ Phakathi, Xolani, the host, and the crew headed to the ex-wife’s place, where a commotion ensued.

Thembi was caught off guard. She hurled insults at Bab’ Phakathi, insisting that the couple shared their assets during the divorce.

However, Bab’ Phakathi stood his ground, saying he never claimed his assets throughout the years.

BAB’ PHAKATHI GETS SOME OF HIS ASSETS

After a lengthy push and pull, the team managed to take a fridge and couches, with Xolani advising Bab’ Phakathi to pawn to buy new ones.

Although Bab’ Phakathi insisted that the car also belonged to him, he discovered that Thembi had now registered it under her name.

Bab’ Phakathi appreciated having at least gotten something tangible, despite only walking away with his couches and fridge.

“I am happy for the little I got, I am happy even though I don’t have all my belongings, it’s better than nothing,” said Bab’ Phakathi.

“It’s hard when you can’t sustain yourself. I don’t work anymore. I am in the position that I am in. It’s hard when you can’t sustain yourself,” he concluded.

“After such a long time on this journey, you were hurt, but you fought this. At least we left with something today,” said Xolani, who hosted Sizok’thola also on Moja Love.
