Gospel star Benjamin Dube could lose assets in R1M lawsuit over unpaid services
Celebrated gospel artist and pastor Benjamin Dube could be in serious financial trouble, as he reportedly faces legal action over a R1 million debt.
Allegations have surfaced that Dube failed to honour a verbal agreement with an equipment and production company, Gearhouse.
According to a letter of demand shared by the company, Dube is accused of reneging on their arrangement for music equipment and technical services.
If the matter escalates, the gospel veteran could see his assets seized to recover the outstanding amount.
The report, first flagged by City Press, claims Dube was expected to pay for services rendered but allegedly defaulted.
Gearhouse is now demanding payment and considering legal avenues to recover the sum.
This news comes shortly after Dube made headlines for his unexpected departure from the Spirit of Praise collective.
While his exit stirred mixed reactions online, the legal threat has added another layer of controversy to the beloved musician’s name.
Despite the looming lawsuit, Dube recently took time to mourn the death of his close friend, Dr SD Gumbi.
In a heartfelt post, he wrote: “Oh, my Lord. We were truly honoured by God to have this gift. The African general Reverend Dr SD Gumbi will always be with us. Oh, man 💔💜🤍. This is a kingdom giant.”
At the time of this report, Dube has not made a public statement addressing the R1 million claim.
