Vida e Caffè will soon be bringing its signature coffee experience directly into selected SPAR stores across the country.
The collaboration sees Vida e Caffè launching full-service coffee counters and food offerings inside select SPAR locations nationwide.
The goal is to offer shoppers a convenient yet premium coffee break while they shop.
Vida, meanwhile, has set its sights on reaching 500 stores across Africa and the Middle East by 2028.
The Cape Town-based coffee chain already operates stores in South Africa, Ghana, Mauritius, Zambia, Eswatini, and Angola.
The power of retail partnerships
This move strengthens SPAR’s position in the competitive convenience and grocery space, where demand for quality in-store experiences is growing.
“We’re incredibly excited about our partnership with Vida e Caffè,” head of convenience and partnerships at SPAR South Africa, Aqeehl Najaar, told BizCommunity.
“Vida’s reputation for delivering an engaging customer experience along with premium coffee adds value to the SPAR network.”
Darren Levy, CEO of Vida e Caffè, is also proud to be bringing the Vida experience to more communities through the retail giant.
“This partnership allows us to meet customers where they are and serve them coffee that fits seamlessly into their lifestyle,” he added.
Where to find them
The rollout is already underway, with new Vida e Caffè’s operating inside the following SPAR stores:
SPAR Weltevreden (Western Cape)
KWIKSPAR Ottery (Western Cape)
SPAR Groote Schuur (Western Cape)
KWIKSPAR Dowerglen (Gauteng)
SPAR Strubensvalley (Gauteng)
More Vida store launches are planned over the coming months.
South Africa grows and roasts the world’s ‘rarest coffee bean’
In related news, a coffee variety that is considered to be one of the rarest in the world is harvested and roasted in South Africa.
Grown in a small sliver of land in KwaZulu-Natal, the bean marks a significant development in the local specialty coffee scene.
The beans then undergo a meticulous, small-batch roasting process at a famous coffee roastery in Cape Town. Read more on that story here.
