Bayern Make Shock Nagelsmann Decision

Bayern Munich have sacked Julian Nagelsmann on Thursday, with Thomas Tuchel the favourite to replace him.

The news has sent shockwaves through German football as Nagelsmann was still competing on three fronts with Bayern – namely the UEFA Champions, where they reached the quarter-final after beating Paris Saint-Germain, as well as the DFB Pokal quarter-final and the Bundesliga.

Nagelsmann had an impressive 2.31 points per game average at Bayern and won last season’s Bundesliga as well as two German Super Cups.

However, a recent below-par run in the Bundesliga saw Bayern drop to second place on the log and must’ve been the reason for Bayern’s decision.

Out of 10 Bundesliga games in 2023, the Bavarians only won five, drawing five, while losing two, which allowed Borussia Dortmund to overtake them on the log – with both sides set to face each other after the international break.

The news were first reported by Fabrizio Romano and later confirmed by multiple reliable German news outlets, with Tuchel agreeing to replace the 35-year-old.
