King Misuzulu kaZwelithini, the leader of the Zulu nation, celebrates his 50th birthday on Monday, 23 September.
Born in KwaHlabisa in the Umkhanyakude district to Queen Mantfombi kaSobhuza and King Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu, this special day has brought love and respect for the monarch from all across the Zulu kingdom.
Traditional Prime Minister Reverend Thulasizwe Buthelezi spoke on behalf of the Royal Family and the Zulu nation, sending heartfelt congratulations to the King.
“This is not just a personal milestone for His Majesty but a significant moment for the entire nation,” said Buthelezi.
King Misuzulu became king on 20 August 2022 at the Kwakhangelamankangane Royal Palace.
Since then, he has led the Zulu nation with strength, following the guidance of his late father, King Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu.
Although his celebrations will be quiet, the King is focused on his people. On Tuesday, he will give an important speech at the King Shaka Day Commemoration in KwaDukuza.
This event honours the founder of the Zulu Kingdom and draws thousands of people each year. The Zulu nation will join in prayer, asking for blessings and wisdom for King Misuzulu.
“Bayede! Hail the King!” said Buthelezi, calling for unity and support for the King.
“Bayede, Wena Wendlovu! Long may the King reign.”
