Baxter Wary Of Baroka Threat

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Stuart Baxter says they will not take Baroka lightly, describing them as the best side to give big teams a good fight in the DStv Premiership.

Amakhosi visit the bottom-placed Baroka in Polokwane for the league’s encounter, and Baxter has shown his respect to Bakgakga.

The Limpopo outfits are one of few teams that always give Amakhosi hard time, proven to be a stubborn opponent as Chiefs only won one of their last four games against them, but Baxter is confident that they will come out victorious.

“With Baroka we know if you look at their result when they played against Sundowns, they gave them a good game. Arguably, if they had taken their chances earlier in the game, they could have won,” Baxter told club’s media department.

“So we know when they play against us when we play very well for a period and if we allow that level to go down, it will be a competitive game.

“We know when they play against Sundowns, Chiefs or Pirates, let’s call it the bigger clubs on paper, Baroka can get themselves up for it and can be difficult opponents.

“We also know if we play as we can play, we can be a difficult opponent as well. There are no foregone conclusions, no surprises, just a good professional job, get the points and bring them back to Joburg.”

The match is scheduled for this 19:30 at Peter Mokaba Stadium today.
