Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter has confirmed that three Amakhosi players will miss the upcoming Soweto Derby.

The Englishman will be in charge of his 11th official Soweto Derby, excluding Carling Black Label Cups, and has only lost once so far.

On Saturday, he will be keen to collect three points to open a three-point gap on their bitter rivals, who also 32 points but played three more games.

Baxter has now addressed his side’s squad situation, confirming that Samir Nurkovic will be suspended, while S’fiso Hlanti and Cole Alexander remain sidelined with injuries.

“Samir is suspended and that’s apart from the two big injuries that we’ve got,” he said on Thursday.

“That’s Cole Alexander and S’fiso Hlanti, but [apart from that] we’ve got a clean bill of health.

“We’ve got players that are coming from injuries, who had more game time and make themselves more available.

“It’s up to me now to find the balance and the correct team that we think can get the job done.”

Chiefs will take on Pirates at Orlando Stadium at 15:30 on Saturday.
