Bartlett Update Amid New Club Rumours

Former Cape Town Spurs head coach Shaun Bartlett has thrashed rumors of him joining Motsepe Foundation Championship side Pretoria Callies.

Bartlett recently left Spurs after a poor start to the season, losing seven out seven matches since their promotion to the top flight.

The former Kaizer Chiefs striker helped the Urban Warriors to gain promotion last season via promotional play-offs after they had finished second in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

It wasn’t for the first time the Cape Town-born tactician helped a club to gain promotion from the second division as he has done it before with Lamontville Golden Arrows, but back then he was sacked before he could even prove himself in the elite league.

There have been some rumours that Bartlett has already found a new club and joined Motsepe Foundation Championship side Pretoria Callies, but he has dismissed those rumours when speaking with iDiski Times.

He did, though, confirm that there has been interest from various clubs, locally and abroad, but nothing has been finalised.

“I haven’t signed with any club. I’m still at home with my family,” Bartlett told iDiski Times.

“There has been calls from the country and abroad, but nothing confirmed yet.

“Also, I’m a man of family. I must think of them on whatever decision I’m taking.”
