Shaun Bartlett has highlighted the importance of sealing a victory away from home in their second match of the new season against Motsepe Foundation Championship newcomers Magesi on Friday (3:00pm) at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Bartlett stated that he was pleased with the Urban Warriors’ performance and work ethic in the 1-all draw against Pretoria Callies, in their opening league game. The Cape-side head into the Magesi encounter as favourites and they are gunning for all the three points.

“We started the season reasonably well with a point away from home against Callies, it’s something to build on,” said Bartlett.

“Hopefully this time around, our players can get over the jitters of the first game of the season and we can really push on. We are hoping to go to Magesi and get the three points, I think it’s important for us to get that first win under the belt to get rid of the nerves a little bit for most of the players.

“Overall, I was quite happy with the performance against Pretoria Callies, we came back well and could have won it in the end but at the end of the day, the work ethic was there,” concluded the Bafana Bafana legend.

Meanwhile, some big names like Black Leopards and Baroka FC who lost on the opening day of the leagues will be aiming to get back to winning ways, whilst newbies like La Masia would like to continue with their positive start.
