Baroka FC have terminated the contract of goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane alongside three other players with immediate effect.
The others let go by the Motsepe Foundation Championship side are Jerry Msane, Nkosinathi Ononogbu and Decide Chauke.
These players have been deemed surplus to requirement by new coach Bushy Moloi, who was appointed recently by the club to replace Vincent Kobola.
Mabokgwane was facing a bleak future at the club as he was not invited to resume training with the team after a short break due to the FIFA World Cup in preparation for the second half of the season.
The former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper was signed by Bakgaga from Royal AM in the January transfer window in the second half of last season when the club was in the top flight.
The club thought he was going to give them solidity at the back, but it wasn’t to be as they were relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship at the end of last season without an away victory.
Meanwhile, iDiski Times can confirm that Stan Nkoane has not left the club after it has been reported that he was also sacked alongside Kobola.
Even though Moloi has brought his own technical team to work with, Nkoane remains part of the Bakgaga’s technical structure as the assistant coach.
