Motsepe Foundation Championship side Baroka FC has again reshuffled things in the technical area.

Coach Bushy Moloi has been redeployed to be the technical advisor in the development.

Stan Nkoane, who was Moloi’s assistant, has been promoted to be the head coach, and will be assisted by Mathari Motupa and Job Maphutha.

Moloi was appointed in November last year after Vincent Kobola was suspended for attending the SAFA license course and then was sacked.

When Kobola left them then, the Limpopo side was positioned 13th on the MFC table with only 11 points after 11 matches ahead of the FIFA World Cup break.

While Moloi won three of his first five games in all competitions, recent result have again been disappointing and the club still lies 13th on the MFC table with 26 points after 24 matches.

The former Varsity Cup-winning coach was in charge of 13 matches overall, winning just four, drawing three and losing six.

With Baroka leveled on points with 14th-placed Platinum City Rovers and seven points away from second from bottom TTM, and eight points ahead of bottom-placed Black Leopards, it is a huge cause for concern for the Limpopo region.

But Nkoane, speaking to iDiski Times after his appointment, says the aim is to save the club.

“Obviously now the task is to finish in a respectful position and make sure we assemble a formidable side that will accomplish the mission and vision of the club next season,” said Nkoane.

“Most importantly, we need to have a solid foundation and a structure because structure is the foundation of what we want to achieve, so we will keep on grinding and make sure we finish on a high like I’ve mentioned.”

Nkoane holds a record in South African club football – when he was in charge of Vaal University of Technology (VUT) in the Nedbank Cup in the 2019/20 season, they beat Steve Komphela’s Golden Arrows on penalties, becoming the first side from the fourth tier to beat a team from PSL top flight.

VUT were then defeated by Mamelodi Sundowns in the last 16, who went on to win the competition. After that Nkoane went to join Royal Eagles and Sekhukhune United, forming part of Babina Noko’s technical team that secured the PSL top flight promotion in 2020/21 season

Nkoane’s first game in charge of Baroka will be the Limpopo Derby against Black Leopards at Global Stadium on Sunday (15:30).
