Barack Obama posts touching message for Michelle’s birthday

Barack Obama has posted a message to his wife Michelle on her birthday.

The former US First Lady is turning 62 years old, and she and her 64-year-old husband have somewhat stepped out of the limelight after eight years in the White House.

Obama posted on X: ‘Happy birthday to the woman who lights up every room she walks into. I love you, Miche.’

Theirs was a monumental ascent to the highest office in the US: that of the first black president and first lady of the US when Obama won the presidential elections twice and ran the country from 2009 to 2017.

The couple has two daughters together, Sasha and Malia.

Michelle has since ventured into the podcast space as co-host with her brother on Imo with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson.

She also has a Spotify podcast: The Michelle Obama Podcast.

Her memoir, Becoming, sold over 1.4 million copies.

Barack, however, has been less busy than his wife. He occasionally voices his opinion on political matters such as the recent suspension of Jimmy Kimmel following comments he made about the assassination of right-wing commentator Charlie Kirk.

Obama accused Donald Trump’s administration of using “government coercion” to silence critics.
