Banyana Banyana star Noxolo Cesane has bid an emotional farewell to Hollywoodbets Super League side University of the Western Cape (UWC) almost a month after winning the WAFCON title with the South African women’s national team.

In the letter, the attacker expressed her gratitude to all of those who have helped her throughout her stay at the UWC.

Cesane spent three years at UWC, having joined them back in 2018.

The Cape club described the 21-year-old footballer as someone who has been a great servant and loyal to the team since day one.

She also represented Cape Town Roses in Sasol League and has made strides over the past few years, playing for SA U17, U20, and now the senior team.

UWU TO CESANE…

“Noxolo Cesane brings an end to a magnificent three years stay with the @UWCFootball. Thank you for being loyal to the Blues,” said the club in a statement.

However, it is still unclear where the talented player might be heading next but an overseas move seems to be the one looming large.

CESANE’s LETTER

Over the past three years at UWC has been home, providing me with the platform to develop as a human being, and a footballer. But now is the time to say goodbye.

I would like to thank coach Thina, Xolile Madikane (Cape Town Roses), and everyone else who has supported me in taking these next steps in my career outside of South Africa.

To my family, I am so grateful for everything you have and continue to sacrifice to allow me to progress. Sinoxolo, keep working hard.

These opportunities also would have not come without the support and encouragement of everyone in the Banyana Banyana family. I’m forever grateful.

I will keep working hard to be ready to answer Banyana Banyana’s call whenever it should come.

The months ahead will be exciting and a fantastic opportunity for me. To my supporters, the love you show me really means a lot to me. I hope to do proud.
