Banyana Banyana have risen nine spots in the FIFA rankings after reaching the last-16 of the recent Women’s World Cup.
FIFA officially communicated the latest rankings on Friday which saw them move up to 45th in the world and second in Africa, one behind Nigeria who are 32nd in the world.
Only their WAFCON finalists, whom they beat in Rabat last year, Morocco, have move up more spots with a 14-place jump to 52nd in the world and fourth in Africa overall.
Sweden move up to the top of the rankings while World Champions Spain sits in second place.
